Recently it was our great pleasure to be able to sponsor a volunteer group for the Darebin nappy trial. The project involved disposable nappy users trialling modern cloth and 100% biodegradable/compostable nappies to see if they found these products easy to use in comparison to disposable nappies. Participants found that with the right information they were mostly able to swap to more environmentally friendly nappy options, especially during the day. When participants came into collect their nappies we were able to help them understand how to use them and care for them enabling a smooth transition from disposables to cloth.
To combat the misinformation and urban myths about nappies we've responded by becoming involved with community projects. We are currently partcipating in an environmental/modern cloth nappy trial which involves current disposable nappy users trialing a number of alternatives in conjunction with our local council.
